at Kingscroft Earl Shilton the finals of the Singles,
Pairs, Triples and Fours took place

them a glimmer of hope but by sixteen ends with Blaby
23-10 in front Holwell conceded.
In the afternoon
session it was the Singles, Pairs and Triples Finals.
The Singles Final between Neil Hope of Holwell and
Alistair Hollis from New Lount was an entertaining match
with Hope going 9-2 up after six ends but Hollis hit
back and at twelve ends it was 10-10. After sharing the
next two ends with one shot each Hope then had a run of
2,1 ,2 then concede one shot before scoring another
three shots over the next two ends to go 19-12 in front.
Hollis then picked a two and a one to close the gap but
Hope then closed out the game with two Singles.
The Pairs Final between
Stephen Lakin and Ady Smedley of Measham against Harry Brown
and Roy Morley of Loughborough Queens Park was a very close
match with never more than two shots in the game with Morley
in front after seventeen ends by 14-12. Over the last four
ends they picked up another eight shots and conceded only
one for a 22-13 win. This is the first County
Pairs (Worthing) win for Loughborough Queens Park since 1958
and will be well celebrated in the Loughborough area.
The Triples featured
Blaby with John Torrington, Steve Wade and Andy Irons
against the Belgrave Triple of Mike Sheldon, Steve Wain
and James Wain. Belgrave started off well with two twos
to go 4-0 after two ends but Blaby hit back with a
vengeance scoring 7,1,1,1,2 and 1 to go 13-4 up at eight
ends. Over the next five ends both teams scored five
shots for an 18-9 lead to Blaby with five ends to play,
although Belgrave fought back over the next four ends
and closed the gap to six shots with one end to play
Blaby were not to be denied their second County win of
the day with a four on the last end for a 23-13 win
